A G5 and some other crap.

OK well its not really a conquest as i didn't really save this G5 from destruction. it would be more accurate to say i saved it from a life of sitting on a desk not being used.

its a first-generation dual 2GHz model with 2GB ram and 2x 250GB HD's. the video card has also been upgraded to an ATI X800. along with it i got a 23" Apple HD Cinema Display. Its going to essentially replace my much-beloved G4 Digital Audio tower, which i haven't really decided what to do with yet.

I also brought a bunch of stuff back to my apartment from my parents house, including my Aptiva which has a 400mhz P2 and dual 8MB Voodoo2 cards in SLI, a ton of old disk drives and hard drives and all kinds of spiffy stuff.

Pictures of all of it can be seen here.

oh, and over the next little while i'm going to be going through all the HD's and optical drives and whatnot and putting them up for sale. i don't need five 4.3GB fireballs :p

Yes it is sad.

/points and laughs.

Ha ha!

No seriously, it is sad.

Are you planning on fixing that problem? The G4 is an awesome CPU and you quickly get spoiled by it's speed. I don't use any of my G3 machines and in fact put a G4 in my 8600.

G3's are great chips and all, but the G4 is better. Far, far better.

Nice score on the Dual G5.

I also envy your screen.
