4400 Project

Finally got some stuff done on the 4400. So far I have replaced the dead PRAM battery with a new homemade one, which is now placed in an easy accessible spot. The noisy fan has been replaced with a quiet Noctua, and I have also replaced Apple's useless pressed metal heatsink with a very nice blue Zalman one. And for a bit of fun I decided to put a tiny green chip heatsink on the nearby mosfet:

I agree - totally in the 68kMLA spirit to improve and pimp out a machine like the 4400 - well done!

No overclocking?

I remember souping up one of these.

There used to be a Japanese guy who had instructions on his page for overclocking almost any Macintosh.

With that oversized heatsink overdriving the CPU should be no problems.
