2.5 to 3.5 HDD bracket

So I'm making a 2.5 to 3.5" drive bracket for mounting those drives inside a Mac. It can be easily mounted on one of those Mac sleds or inside a metal HDD cage the sometimes have. It'll work for both Apple SCSI 2.5" and normal 2.5" drives.

My question is, do you want me to make it so you can mount multiple drive vertically? Looks like you can fit two 2.5" drives vertically in the same space as a 3.5" drive (maybe for RAID.) If you have a computer like a IIci, IIsi, or Quadra 9x0, you could probably fit 4 of those suckers vertically.

OK, I made a riser. It sits in the cross area of the bracket, with a clip on the top part. You can put 2 of those risers on it in any of those three positions, then clip on a second bracket. You can then mount a second drive. As I write this, I'm already thinking I may change the design a bit so you can stack as many as you like, so if you have a Quarda 950 or something with room for full height drives, you could stack 8 brackets and have an 8 drive RAID (you know, just because. ;) )

Oh, I know. I could clip the other side of the riser, so then you just turn the riser 180 degrees every time you wanna stack more. I'll fiddle with the design a bit more.

How does your riser system not just fall apart?

Also, does this not already exist? They are only getting more common with SSD popularity and there are a few different variations, some tool-less even.

It doesn't fall apart because it clips together.

And you're right about the plethora of adapters, but at least one redeeming quality of my design is that you can adjust the position of the drives. Could come in handy because of the various sizes of adapters and the space available in the different model 68k Macs.

Also, cuz I made it using my bitty brain. :p
