Now starting to go through. There is a ton of these sales and training DVDs. Anyone know what these are for and if anyone could use them?

How does a IIfx end up in the pile of not worth selling?

The sales DVDs should be ripped to ISO and dumped at archive.org

1: You got me. I saw it and grabbed it with no questions asked. I didn't care what was inside.

2: All materials are going to be archived and uploaded to various sites. At the end of it, a real archivist can have the discs. I'm running out of space.

Organized the floppies. Incredible amount of early system revisions piled under the system software stack. Hopefully it’s all still readable too. If anyone wants the Lisa disks, I don’t need them. Anyone need an image of the PowerCache IIci disk?

Also: there’s a bunch of audio tapes with the MacWrite, etc boxes. Has anyone recorded these? I can bust out my tape deck and digitize them.

Inside the IIfx:

Just waiting to explode and utterly destroy this beast. No one must have been in here who knew anything, or they’d already be out. Counting my blessings on this one!

A good question. It has two video cards but that’s about it. This will need to be overhauled, recapped, cleaned, traces, and re-batteried before I take a look. If anyone knows how to read RAM chips (I don’t, I’m happy to take a look.

Ill start a separate resto thread on the machine.

If you have a Mac 128K motherboard, or a 512K motherboard with socketed RAM in that stack, I'd be interested.
Tomorrow/this weekend I’ll be rifling through the boards to see what is there and In what quantity. I’ll let you know.

I AltaVistad, and found this:

Size or capacity of SIMM

Look at the four digits to the left, these often carry information about the number of bits in the chip. A 4256 indicates 256 K bits arranged in sets of four, for a total of 1 Mb. "1000" indicates 1 MB of bits arranged in one set.

With some memory, the last one or two digits may be changed to indicate different kinds of memory; there are 1 MB chips that end with 4256, 4257, and 4258. In this case, round the last digits to an even 256 or thousand. Three-chip SIMMs have two larger chips that are quadruple the capacity of the third chip. The third chip is dedicated to parity data.

It'd be great to see this come back to life! Adam's records indicated that this one needed quite a bit of work (it does not power on currently), but wasn't any more specific than that. Information like this played a significant role in prioritizing what we would attempt to sell and what we would view as a contribution to the community.

Some of those sales and training CDs and DVDs can be cool.  Lots of product photography, line art, typefaces, presentations, brochures, that sort of thing.  I've seen some with radio ads.  It's been a long time since I've seen one though, so who knows?

If you present an image from which we can read the markings on the RAM SIMM chips, we can figure out the capacity from the datasheet(s) for the chips on the SIMM boards.

RAM chip info in in the new rest thread!

I count 10 logic boards: Two 128k, one 512k, five Mac Plus, Two SE, and one SE/30 that it appears someone worked on previously.

Here's a puzzler to me: what the heck is this contraption?

I mean, this would be a useful spare for me, and I'd imagine for anyone else who has a Lisa and is neurotic about availability of parts :) (or has a failed power button or keyboard jack!)

If you are interested, just send me a PM. Unless I find a free Lisa somewhere, I’ll never have one! Would rather it be useful to someone.
