Well that's a Plus...

A Plus indeed. Not a plus in the sense of added gain or benefit, but a Macintosh Plus 1MB.

That's it on the right, perched next to my 512k. Unfortunately it has a nasty habit of tripping circuit breakers and being generally flaky... however it does boot up and run just fine in the times it's not acting odd.

Initially my plan was to transplant the bucket casing and the logic board over into the 512k body (which is in beautiful shape, but needs a logic board). As a matter of fact, that's still my plan, but i'd like to do something with the old Plus afterward. I'm just not quite sure what.

I'll determine what parts go where between each system once I have them both open, side by side, tomorrow.

Interestingly, that Platinum Plus (logo in line with the FDD slot, no incuse rectangle around the keyboard port or the logo) looks to be more yellowed than the 512K, of which there was no Platinum version. Oh! the ravages of ageing. I have a Platinum Plus and a 512Ke that scarcely differ in their degree of yellowing, despite their difference at release.

You'll need to sort out what the problem is, could be dangerous otherwise ( fire etc ).
