They finally arrived (G3 ZIFs)

I got the two Sonnet Encore G3 500 ZIFs from IC China today. They look brand new. If they've been cleaned up, someone did a really good job because these look immaculate. The tops of the chips don't look like they've been slathered with thermal goo and even the gold on the pins isn't so much as scratched. I hope the external condition is indicative of the functionality. I'll be trying them this weekend when I have more time to dig out my beige G3's.

Good luck, but I suspect that you will not need luck. None of 15 G3 and G4 ZIF CPUs—and a single 603e daughtercard for PB 500 series—that I have bought from ic-china has been a dud, either cosmetically or functionally.
