I've got a Umax C600 clone that's missing two of the 5.25" bezels and want to plug up the holes... Anyone know what 5.25" drive mounting rails work?

Alternatively, anyone know if there's compatible dummy bezels available? Regular ones don't seem to work properly if I remember correctly.​

I'm no help but I can sympathize, I need bezels or mounting railes for my PTP, as well, and I can't seem to find any that match at all.

Yeah, quite frustrating. Don't see why they had to go for some fancy rail solution when screws and holes work just as well...

Not sure about your machine but on mine it is even more frustrating, because only one side uses a rail. The rear side of the case is non removable so uses a rail, and the other side normal screws. So just one stupid rail and I'd be good. I have an idea for cutting down a dell rail that might work but nto sure.

A lot of the parts for the clone machines are proprietary, and computer resellers usually take the whole drive sled/rails out when removing the hard drives, and neglect to put them back before putting them up for sale. I had to buy 2 for one of my Mac Pro's, and three for the other, on account of that, and, of course, the seller didn't disclose beforehand that the drive sleds would be missing. I mean, how hard is it, really, to remove the hard drives from the sleds, before disposing of them? It's like a lot of the early Macs that have the Apple branded hard drives, with an Apple ROM on them. It's extra work to have to use a non-Apple drive, when they could just wipe the original Apple drives, and leave them in the machines. I hate when sellers do stupid crap like that, that makes life more difficult for the buyer. I bought a vintage 486 system once, where not only did the seller remove the hard drives, he removed the entire hard drive cage, and the cage is unique to that case, so I couldn't even put a hard drive in it at all, without the cage, and, again, they don't disclose these important facts before you buy.

Could be that they use regular AT-style rails. At least they look very similar on photos on google.

Wouldn't this be a good project for 3D- printing?

Didn't know there was a standard AT mounting rail, I'll have to look into this. And yeah, I've considered putting together a quick and dirty STL model but haven't had the time.

You find these kind of rails also on old Compaq PCs. I think I even have sone in my basement storage.
