Is it possible to do a striped RAID 0 in System 7.1.1 Pro? I'm working on a IIci mod that'll allow it to have 2 HDDs in the HDD slot. Created a custom SCSI cable just for it. Would like to stripe RAID two 250MB SCSI drives.
Shouldn't be a problem. My 1991 HDT 1.2.1 manual lists the minimum requirement as 6.0.2 and the box has the "Apple Macintosh System 7 Savvy" sticker on the cover. My assumption would be that this will work w/7.0.1* just fine because that's what I was using right up until I bought HDT 2.0 for IDE support to format the B!G@$$ IDE Drive I swapped right for the pathetic stock HDD.
The manual explains RAID, but I haven't looked closely enough at it yet. I'm working under the assumption that I'll have to find a matched copy of HDT RAID Toolkit to buy in order to get the StudioArray striping at RAID 0 off the JackHammer or another pair of drives with the FastSCSI2/RocketShip.
p.s. I just read up on the FWB SUITE Summer Deal! It seems to have included EVERYTHING except the RAID ToolKit.
-Hard Disk Toolkit
-CD-ROM Toolkit
-Turbo ToolkKit
-HSM ToolKit
HDT 2.0 doesn't support anything less than a 68020 Mac with 7.0.1 as the minimum OS requirement. Looks like I'll be reading this manual!
Anybody got a copy of FWB's RAID ToolKit for either version of HDT for sale? :?:
