Stargate works with USB-Serial adapter?

Hi everybody, I want to use StarGate for file transfer between my PCs and my Macs.

I have a lot of PC with Win 95/98, but I want to use my old netbook with XP and a Serial to USB adapter, but, is this adapter supported by StarGate?

Somebody tried this software with USB-Serial adapter?

Hmm, you are making me re-visit Star Gate! I have been having terrible luck with sending files over serial recently with my SE/30 (I still blame BADCAPS!), need to go try Star Gate now.

A few years ago (2015) I used Star Gate on my SE (not SE/30) with great success! I used a FTDI based USB to serial adaptor. Now, I wasn't running it on a netbook with XP, rather it was a workstation running either 7 or 8.1 at the time, but it worked perfectly!

Wooow, great, I swear to have your luck with my adapter, I need this for my IIci, IIsi, Quadra 700 and Performa 6200, transfer a file from USB to Beige G3 and from G3 to SCSI SyQuest 40 MB removable HD is very annoying.

Star Gate seems to work well, the other thing you can do use use ZTerm on your Mac and zmodem the files over too.

ZTerm is definitely not as easy to use as Star Gate. Yes it uses the same null modem cable. I know ZTerm can on some macs go up to something like 256000 baud, not sure if Star Gate can do the same. For you, you should probably stick to Star Gate, unless you are comfortable using ZTerm (and zmodem).
