I noticed a request by David Greelish to rate his movie on Amazon or IMDB. This movie had a sizable impact on my life, as it rekindled an old hobby of working with vintage computers and reconnected me with many old friends; we are having vintage network parties and GlobalTalk gaming marathons!
Directly because of his influence, I now own a LISA and use it for WORK writing blogs and ended up hosting the most popular Village at the 2025 QueenCity Security Con.. Vintage Hacking! I gave away copies of the DVD to aspiring UC students who took the time to use and learn LOS on my LISA that I bought to demo at the event. They were elated!
The first two times I watched this, it was on YouTube and was for free. I did not even know it was for sale.
When I saw David Greelish's request for reviews to help the movie get more coverage, I could not refuse!
I did run into a few issues I thought people should know if you want to leave an Amazon review, as I have.
I purchased and watched the movie using the Prime Video app. (Still just as good the 5th time
). But after watching the movie, it would only let me give a "thumbs up". I thought maybe it needed to 'digest' my "verified purchase" status so I waited a few weeks, but still no luck.
So, today I opened up the web Amazon interface, -> Your Orders -> Digital Orders and FINALLY I was able to leave a full review. DONE!
My GlobalTalk network is currently off-line for renovations but I intend to keep it up and going 365/yr. From my LISA restoration posts, I was contacted by some people who had unpublished archives of Mac/LISA software gathered by the Cincinnati Apple Users group (AppleSiders). They have supplied me with their old disks from their Disk of the Month club function as well as some other old rare bits. I have been Flux-imaging them (Applesauce), and they will be available through the LisaNet share, hopefully in a few weeks.
Have not seen the movie GO WATCH IT!
