So I've been eyeing those batches of 100 Farallon LC Ethernet cards on Ebay. They appear to use a custom Farallon chip. Now, if I was Farallon, I would have designed that chip to handle all the Mac cards I might manufacture.
So, the question is, did they use that chip on an SE/30 ethernet card (a much more rare flavor) and if they did, could we steal the chips from the LC cards, put them on a different PCB with appropriate connector and make SE/30 ethernet cards.
The early SE/30 cards I've seen are built with National Semi chipsets. Anyone have a card or image of a Farallon SE/30 card built with a Farallon branded chip?
Or just post your images of Farallon brand SE/30 cards, might be fun.
