Interware VDR-2A: can it sense connected display?

I recently bought one of these from a member here, and it works great. I thing I remember from back in the day that some video cards could sense when a monitor was connected. Anyone know if this one can somehow?

If I boot the machine with nothing connected, and the menu bar is on the external display, I see nothing on the internal display. I'd like to be able to use the machine without the external display connected. Do I need to remember to move the menu bar, or is there some way to automate this?

from what I understand, the earlier interwares don't have the ability to "sense" an attached display.

as long as you have working PRAM, the menu bar/boot screen should be remembered after you set it.

Thanks. Yes, it does remember. I just have to remember to move it before I take the machine somewhere without a display available.
