Identifying Flyback Replacements

I've got a graphite Apple Studio Display 17" (M6496) that flickers out at random, the image snapping to the center then slowly re-expanding over the next few seconds. This unit is on its original caps, but based on the symptom and other people's reports of problems with this model I'm assuming it's a bad flyback transformer and not something else going on.

I have next to no experience with CRTs, apart from the minimum stuff required to work safely on the 9" tubes in the compact Macs. How do y'all identify acceptable replacement flybacks? Is someone aware of a part that is a match for this monitor? Is there something else worth checking before going after the flyback?

Bumping to see if anyone might have insight into this. If there is another forum that might be worth checking that'd be awesome too, I'd like to get this thing either fixed or moved on to a new home with someone who knows more about CRTs than me.

Find part no and replace with same
At least what I see online suggests the flyback on this model is frequently bad so I was hoping to avoid a 1:1 replacement with the same (possibly faulty) part. Probably should have indicated that in the original question, sorry.

Maybe a better question to ask: "Are there any tricks to identifying suitable flybacks besides just looking at what manufacturers list as replacements?"

HR Diemen suggests HR 46162 or HR 46323, neither of which I've found from any place online that looks reputable. Are there other vendors people have tried with success?

This video from a few years ago provides an overview of the replacement process, and it appears the attempt was successful. There is a blog post linked in the description as well. He used an HR 46162.
