According to the below post, a company called Hello Cables is claiming to have DB-19s in stock, or at least have 10k pieces "on order". One wonders if that is true or not.

The 10K pieces they're referring to are the same 10K that I'm having made. Part of this order is going to IEC (an electronic parts vendor) who is affiliated with Hello Cables and Connect World.

These DB-19 connectors were a LONG time in the making, figuratively and literally. I think I'm going to fill the bathtub and swim in them.

Next step: re-ship half of them to the other people in the group buy. They should start becoming available in small quantities at electronics parts suppliers in a couple of weeks.

Yes, I had that nightmare. "Oh, you wanted 0.1 millimeters? Your spec said inches." Or "we made the pins out of wood, since your spec didn't define the material."

I'm happy to say they passed my mechanical and electrical test, and I successfully built a Floppy Emu adapter with one.

Congrats! I remember back in the mid to late 90s Dr. Levinson and I had t take DB 25s and do a lot of trimming and cutting and then solder/welding the metal back to a smaller size to make them. We used silver solder or aluminum brazing/solder to get them together. Hank (Dr Levinson) was an artist with a torch.

I take it you only got the male side of them? I'm thinking it would be nice to have the other half to plug it in to, when you aren't using it for Floppy Emulators...

Although, I suppose that one could just take an all-plastic DB25 female connector and stick it in a CNC mill to trim it down to size...

Db19 females can still be found at surplus electronics warehouses, but there's little need for them. Google should find you some if needed.

I think this is one of the most impressive "Well FINE, I'll just do it myself then, O thou self-proclaimed 'suppliers' who refuse to actually supply" that I have ever seen or heard of! If I knew of a haberdasher who hadn't gone out of business 20 years ago, I'd go buy myself a hat specifically to tip to you!
