I've been very happy with my v.1 so far in my SE-FDHD but wondering if I should get a V2 for my SE/30? Thanks for any info.

also, just to clarify, I mean specifically performance. I don't really need the rom disk as I've got a Rominator.
Performance wise it is faster. In practical terms though you'd only see an advantage running on PPC machines. For a 68k like your SE/30 there's no pressing reason to upgrade.
The V1's simplicity comes at a cost: it runs the bluepill out of spec. The V2 (or Androda's F1/F4 BlueSCSI) do not suffer that issue, they should have a much longer lifespan. They are, however, less DIY friendly than the original, and I wouldn't plan to build your own unless you're really comfortable working with small SMD components.

thanks. Yeah, I would buy an assembled one. Do I need to be concerned about my current v1 lifespan? it's been flawless but of course I've only had it for a few months. Are these more likely to fail at some point than not?

I’ve heard they do eventually. You could just keep using it and if it fails then replace with a V2. Presumably your data will be safe and you can just move the microSD card over.
