I realize the SCSI would be much better performance wise then the IDE, but in my case id be using MIDI + saving MIDI files.. which are miniscule..
If you don't need a *large* drive, there are several different cheap options for SCSI.
My suggestion would be a Zip or Jaz drive in place of the CD-ROM.
If I remember right, uni still has some 4GB 68 pin SCSI drives with terminated 68-50 converters.
were u using a real IDE drive? or flash media?
You can see above, that he used the IDE drive from the 630 on the IDE channel, and then tried the SCSI2SD on the SCSI channel.
i really hope u can put more energy into possibly getting the IDE working
I think it was kind and helpful of uni to give this a shot. At least we know for sure that the board is bootable in this configuration. And if he's busy, he's busy. *shrug*
Maybe he'll have a few minutes to look at this again, maybe someone else will, or ....
it could be because u used a 5260? and not a 5200 ?
Doubtful, as far as I know they're identical.
But there's one good way to make sure, get a 630 board yourself and try it out.
