You can actually leave it on and it should eventually stop trying to post for the battery and switch on the display but it often takes anything between a few mins to 10+ mins.

Go for it, 030's are fairly durable though to be on the safe side it wouldn't hurt to stick on a little heatsink.

I don't see why your so upset, 128k is almost a totally useless amount of RAM. If I got that Mac and found that inside i'd be over the moon! Especially since it looks a well done mod and is quite unique in the sense it's a home made jobbie. Hell, I wouldn't be dissapointed if it was a 512k Mobo...

It's nothing unusual that some accelerators work better in some machines then in others, even when the box tells you it's compatible. Glad to hear it works for you though. :)

There's a small indented dot above the 'M' logo thats right on the top middle of the chip. Is that something to do with it?

Sorry to bring this back up but I managed to source an FPU and I got the PDS card out but don't know which way the 68882 goes in. There's an arrow pointing West on the socket so does the FPU plug in 90 degrees left form its normal position shown in the picture? LINK TO PICTURE...
