Floppy flex cable woes

Welp, my Powerbook 160 seems to be a prime example of Murphy's Law.

Long story short, the flex cable for the top head of the drive has snapped. I just wanna check if there's possibly some magical way to remedy this before getting a whole new drive. Any thoughts? Thanks!

You can repair it the same way like in this video:

You think this is doable for someone who's never done it before? I fear I may be horrible inept.

I would try it. What could it hurt since its already broken?
