Ultradock 16sce setup

Hey everybody, I got the Duo and my ultradock and while I just got home from a flight from HK and need to rest, thought i'd throw this out there. Can the ultradock ethernet work without any special software? Unfortunately the duo only has macTCP, will it work if I connect it to a router? How do I set it up? Also, I have an appleCD 600e, but the duo doesn't have any CD related extensions, can 7.5.3 read the discs without them? I tried hooking it up to the ultradock and it wouldn't recognize the disc. do you think that's because the computer doesn't have scsi drivers for the ultradock or the CD drivers?

thanks, i'm really tired but can't wait to play with this thing in the morning.

I don't think it'll need any drivers for SCSI support, I don't recall ever needing drivers for Newer's SCSI MicroDocks or the Apple MiniDocks which, IIRC, were OEM'd by Newer. Dunno if the EtherNet drivers are in ROM or not, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit if they were.

I'd say try to boot the Duo off a System Installer CD as well, shouldn't be a problem with your 600e.

Doesn't seem to recognize CDs unfortunately. I got the 600e set at ID 1, the light blinks when it's starting up but the Civ II Cd in there won't show up on the desktop. Sounds like I'll need to burn a mac OS CD on another computer. Any ideas where I can get a system 7.5 ISO that would have all those drivers? or 7.6 or 8? what do you recommend?

The UltraDock 16sce requires the driver for the Ethernet to work properly -- otherwise, it's a silent port.

Same goes for the NetDock.
