Successful long weekend (PPC though)

This long weekend gone I managed to get myself the following:

Blueberry 350MHz iMac - working

Blueberry 400MHz iMac - not working

Snow 500MHz iMac - untested

Flower Power 600MHz iMac - working

Dalmatian 500MHz iMac - working

all for a total of $200 (which I think is pretty good)!

The Snow sacrificed it's front bezel and some internal plastics for the Flower Power. The two Blueberries aren't in the best shape so will be used for parts eventually too.

The Dalmatian was purchased separately, from the original owner with keyboard, mouse and original discs and is absolutely flawless.

I dunno, I've always liked the pattern iMacs *least*. I prefer the original fruity ones. I got a blueberryBook for that reason; I guess I want a red iMac at some point.

Good conquest! Those are rare birds indeed. Rarely saw those when those were sold back in time also.

Thanks for the positive responses everyone, as you can all tell, I'm very pleased with myself...

The Blue Dalmatian is actually now my second one... I was lucky enough to find it advertised locally and how could I say no to another at only $50! My first BD iMac is in excellent condition also, but is the slightly faster 600MHz variation.

The Flower Powers front bezel was very yellowed (as is the actual FP patterned case compared to the BD). The Apple logo on the top was also yellowed but on inspection the Flower Power and the Snow both share the same clear Apple logo even though one is BLUE and the other CLEAR. The blue is just a stick-on plastic filter behind it, and the back Apple logo - a pink filter (I thought this was interesting) plus it also meant I could effectively replace the FP's yellowed Apple.

Next I'd like to buy some sort of nice looking (and sturdy) vertical shelving unit to make a display from the Snow, Graphite, BD and FP iMacs.

Has anyone here seen any "iMac displays" as such?

P.S. I've already effectively made a "display" out of my 5-flavour iMacs, I copied the coffee table idea another collector had done.

I really wish I had taken that non-working Flower Power iMac I was offered years ago. Oh well... Blue Dalmation is the one I'd love to have. I remember staring at them at MacWorld Expo, thinking they were probably running out of color ideas... I think Sage and Snow are my favorites of the slot loaders. I've got a nice looking Snow, but not Sage. I seem to recall a rumor of "banana" or some other yellow color that never came to be. Probably wanted to avoid the "Yellow Snow" jokes! Still think it could have been a neat color to have had.

I think the five-flavor coffee table is awesome, by the way. I gotta have one. Much easier than my prior goal of recreating the TekServe MWNY 2000 Mac Living Room Set!

This is the only other iMac display that comes to mind. Check out the Flickr set, his basement is pretty freakin' cool to say the least.

I actually seem to remember hearing that they never released it in order to avoid references to a "lemon-flavoured iMac"......

The steel pole shelving on the right is an Ikea system called Stolmen. The poles extend to fix firmly between the floor and ceiling, so no permanent attachments are needed. Perfect for renters who want to get their deposit back ;) There are lots of examples of creatively re-arranging this system on IkeaHacker.
