Hi 68k-era,

Ive been looking at simm upgrades, not that i can find any in the uk only states. Anyway ive seen lots with different ns rating, i would like 32mb as that seems nice enough for getting my se/30 online, so 8 x 4mb 30 pin, I believe none palarity, what ns value should i be looking for?

I just can;t remember the voltage but the more you put in the longer the boot time.

OWC has been around forever. I trust em. I think you can order over the phone too though.

Strange card input area and for me in the uk with time difference and call costs not worth a call. Uniserver found a uk amazon seller that seems good. The uk lacking the vintage mac stuff though i looked for hours unsuccessfully

OWC are probably the most reliable and trusted Mac parts & accessories dealer on the internet.  I get my stuff from them as often as possible, because half the time it works out cheaper than eBay, and if I go through the right selection process I know for certain that it will work with my Mac.

I seem to recall that you can install the Quadcontrol control panel for the Daystar Turbo 040 card even if you don't have the card installed, and it has a setting to skip the memory test on bootup.  That ring a bell with anyone else?  I'm afraid my SE/30 is not set up at the moment so I am unable to test this.

I found the feature mentioned here in the "Expert Options" section: http://lowendmac.com/2005/the-legendary-daystar-turbo-040-hot-rods-68030-macs/

Here's what the setting looks like in the manual (page 110): http://www.artmix.com/pdffiles/QuadCon_MN.pdf

HA!  Found my own post on the Vintage Macs Google group from 2007 asking about this very subject  lol: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/vintage-macs/l9JmjppQ5q0

Anyway can't seem to find any more info.  If you try it please post results in a new thread.
