My SE/30 has a manufacturing date on a sticker that says manufactured in 1992 but I thought they stopped making them in 1990, see pic attached. I'm not to bothered if it's a cut and shut as long as it's an SE/30 inside, is anyone aware of any made as late as 1992' I presume classic 2 was about then any ideas?

Anyway to verify the serial number? Maybe it is a SE upgraded to a SE\30.

Only other way is to open the case and look at the logic board chips and see what their date codes say and verify the logic board serial with the case serial. But I'm still saying that the SE\30 was made well into the 90s.

Yes it seems a bit odd as i thought 1991 was the end date, that said every sticker looks original, i did a seriel check online but mine didn't show up but the seriel checker said not all se/30 are listed. its says its an Se/30 when you boot up, yes think you're right until i manage to get myself a long tork to fit and open her up i wont know for sure but you reckon they made them weell into the 1990 maybe it isthe real deal, ill keep you posted. :)

Made in Cork, so that could be the reason. US sales may have ended in 1991, but Euro sales may have continued. Would not be the first time. Much of the info online is base on US sales. An unrelated example was a car I once owned. 1991 was the last model year for the 560SEL Mercedes. But they were made for a few more years in South Africa.

If this was a US or Singapore model, I would be more peaked in interest. I guess members could check their SE/30s and take a look at dates.

Thats true unity I hadn't thought of that, yes thats very true. I was at art college in 92-95 and they had se/30's then and i got my colour classic late 1993 so it's very possible and yes it was made in Ireland. it really doesn't bother me just threw me when I noticed it, either way I'm just happy to have a working se/30 even if its made up of several machines, it says se/30 on the front and back, boots up saying its an se/30 and has the network card in it so all is good.
