Radius.sea.hqx - the Holy Grail of drivers . . .

Now if I could find one of the vanilla SCSI Zip Drives I'd be all set to give these puppies a walk. But I stashed them somewhere when I started using the SCSI/Parallel Zip+ and haven't found 'em yet. Luckily my lowball bid on a replacement for the + came through and is on its way.

Was that RadiusWare2.0 image the installer version from the Mac Driver Museum?  I found my diskcopy image and it is definitely the one from the original archive.

Also I went looking and I have a 486 motherboard so that PROM burner could possibly come back to life.  Just need a copy of the Radius Accelerator Mac SE v2.1 ROM.

LOL! ;)

Anybody know of a good CD and Zip cataloging program for OS9, that'd be a big help too. I've got a metric crapload of the things to go through as well as a small box full of Developer CDs.
DiskTracker has recent versions going back to 68k, and the latest version runs on Intel OS X. Every MacAddict disc included a DiskTracker file that had every disc cataloged.

Sweet, checked out the manual, it works under 9.2.2?

Don't thinks so, I grabbed everything from everywhere. It was part of radius_drivers.zip which appears to be a later compilation of the contents of the Holy Grail.

Glad you found that clunker! ;D I dicided to give up on the Zip drive option considering the carpet bombings resulting from trying to run Iomega Guest. I'll be tearing the thing down and transferring the files straight to HDD using the G3MetalMiniTower bridge machine.

While I'm at it I'll get the info off the Rad16's ROMs. Need to start a database on ROM levels and dates as noted on all these toys so we can get a first hand look at compatibility rather than relying on partial Q&A data from the Radius Archives and a whole lot of hearsay.

First off, is there a utility that can mount a DiskCopy image under 7.1?

Something got borked while I pulled the SE apart, hooked the 7.1 HDD up to the Beige G3 "Bridge Machine" and transferred radius_drivers.zip across the 9.0 to 7.1 divide. System 7.1 drive borked by desktop rebuild under OS9 in BG3?

Spent time doing a clean install of 7.1 on the drive in the IIcx and then copied files over from the pet IIfx. Have I mentioned lately how much I love me that wonderful Toy! Glommed DiskCopy 4.2 and a few of other older titles in that 7.5 utility suite onto a floppy and fed them all to the 7.1 Disk. Fingers crossed!

Zip drive arrived overnight from over in Wilson, NC, so it's off to the Management Office! [:)] ]'>

Bad news: New Zip is weird, gotta check the specs before I try it. Connectors are the same and it came with the same AutoDetect cable but none of the icons on the back look anything like the ZipPlus I thought I'd killed that it was slated to replace.

Good news: Old Zip lives!

TERRIBLE NEWS: I think I may have finally managed to kill a card by static discharge. Dunno for sure, but the v4.4 ROMs on the TPD card I've been messing around with now cause the identical bomb on both cards and the ©1989v3.3 ROMs hang the system at the same point on both cards. With any luck, this means I've only killed the one set of ROMs and the other won't hang a System 6 install  .  .  .  NOT holding my breath at this point, time to move on to another project for a while.

Good news: (sort of) ROMS on the Radius 16 Accelerator only support System 6 and I ran that on the setup I'm trying to re-create until I finally broke down and bought the 7.0 Upgrade Kit in May of 1992. Can you believe I had to send them the old System 6 ROMs in 1992! Like what could I (or anyone else) have even used them in if I'd wanted to at that point? ::)

Anybody know of a source for a 6.0.8 installer disk set? Love the 7.1 set I got on eBay, but searching there turns up bopkes.

My holy grail of drivers is for the Prodigy SE by Levco, no one seems to have a copy.  I contacted one of the founders of Levco, and he still has an SE with this upgrade, but being a busy man, I don't see him being able to find the time to boot this one up (if it even still works).

Stumbled on this old thread - I have the original disk for this.  Radius Accelerator 2.9, Radius Math 1.5, RadiusWare 2.0 complete with the installer mentioned.  If anyone would find useful, let me know.

Way cool! Thank you. If you could get images off to the different repositories for multiple backups maybe it won't be lost again. :approve:

I know it is an old thead, but I hope one of you still have working river for ancient Radius Two Page displays.
I answered to an other old thread: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/radius-se-tpd-card-drivers.2702/
Also writing here because the "key file" is the Radius.sea.hqx and the CL_SEA_PL.sea.hqx mentioned on https://vintageapple.org/macdrivers/radiuscards.html
But 'of course', they are lost in time in the history of Internet...
Thank you
