Quadra 700 hard drive caddy usable in a Macintosh IIcx?

Could a Quadra 700 hard disk caddy be used in a Macintosh IIcx? I have my eyes set on a Macintosh IIcx on eBay which is missing the hard drive and the caddy, and I have a Quadra 700 hard disk caddy from a box of parts acquired from a fellow 68kmla member.

Since the Quadra 700 and the IIcx are the same case, I'm pretty sure it should work, but just making sure.

Probably so. They're not needed, in any case, unless you just like having the hard drive secured.

Alright, thanks. :) I really want to secure the hard drive so I can run the Macintosh IIcx sideways without worries.

The IIci and IIcx do use the same kind of mount, 700 should also since it is in a IIcx type of case.

Olde-mac-milt usually carries HDD cradles for the IIci/IIcx/Q700, which he groups together. I have one of each of those Macs, and can verify that they use a common (with minor variations) cradle. I don't know any of the other potential users of that particular cradle, but it is not impossible that there are some.

Alright, I'm sure that I can use the caddy in a IIcx now. Thanks everybody!
