Hello, I have received this PowerMystic Color Classic: http://web.mac.com/mruben/iWeb/Site/PowerMystic.html , it powers on fine, I can hear the fans and the drive spin up but I never get anything on the display nor hear any bong. This is all I see (blue led indicates that it's powered on): http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/6461/091707074300vb9.jpg ...what would cause this? Thanks! :)

P.S. Sorry for the horrible image resolution, only digital camera available to me is my cell phone unfortunately

have you opened it up? I received a Classic II once and the heavier CRT logicboard having been removed and not re-secured with glue had fallen off the neck during transit. Though I could also hear it when I shook the case. As for not having a bong, it actually makes two different startup sounds depending on which side of the logicboard you are booting from, 68K or PPC. It's possible for whatever reason it is confused about which to startup from so it just sits there. I have this exact same Colour Classic configuration and have never had this particular problem. Try using a floppy to see if it will startup from that. Also, zapping the P-RAM is helpful in this model. You might have better luck over on the Applefritter.com Colour Classic forum hosted by Stuart Bell.

Hello I have opened it and have found that the seller shipped it to me with the processor desocketed! Here is a image of the processor in its current state:

I am unable to put the processor into its socket however because of this connection the card has to the motherboard (which is conveniently located right below the board preventing it from going down and allowing the pins to go into the processor socket):

How do I reseat the processor? Thanks! :)

If I try to push the processor down to seat in its socket the front will comply: http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/3416/sany0023si5.jpg but the backside does not: http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/4343/sany0021np7.jpg'>http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/4343/sany0021np7.jpg . If you look at this picture: http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/4343/sany0021np7.jpg you also notice something on the right side sticking between the card and the motherboard, that is a connector that goes from the bottom of the processor card to the motherboard and thus I assume it is important but with it sticking between the card and the motherboard like that how am I supposed to reseat the processor??? Thanks! :)

Here's the thing, I think that thing on the right-hand side in that picture is another connector. At least it appears that way on my board. I have the Processor Upgrade install manual somewhere since I actually performed it myself on mine, but finding it may take some time. Looking at my board, it would appear the whole thing will pull right off, just lift straight up. It is unlikely that the seller shipped it desocketed. More likely it was jarred lose during shipping. In which case, that additional connector could have been misaligned/bent and you will have to realign it so the card will fit down. That is the only explanation I can come up with for why it won't fit down properly. However, be very careful pulling the board completely off and re-inserting it because the pins are delicate.

It would seem that you have a bent pin on there from the last two pics there. Try straightening that and see if it helps any.

Good eye ... that is surely the problem. It looks like there may be one bent out on the right too, but it's quite blurry.

Now I remember: the connector you see in front of the processor is the battery. first you have to remove the smaller top circuit board next to the 68040 processor. Just lift it straight up from the front and back, board edge & processor side. Then, disconnect the battery, pull straight through the board. Note how the wiring snakes through the card to put it back. Then you should be able to pull the whole card straight up. Be very careful straightening that pin. I use needle nose pliers and put the tips against the board and slowly squeeze applying pressure at the base and end of the pin, gently easing it back into an upright position, without flexing it enough to break it. It takes a lot of patience. It the pliers are ribbed jaws, wrap some tape around them so the pin will slide along it.
