I have a dual boot FW 800 PowerMac (Tiger and Jaguar), it did not come to me with the original optical drive (it has a LiteOn that works ok, but won't boot from installer disks). It has an adaptec (AHA 2930CU) SCSI card in it that I would like to use it to mount an external HD that I have used to make copies of all my HD's on my other 68K Macs and then make copies of those on CD.
So basically..
SE -> ext HD -> FW800MDD -> CD or DVD
Anyway, the SCSI card doesn't show up in the system profiler and of course the external SCSI drive does not mount.
Is there a way to make this card work with the PowerMac, or do I need a different SCSI card and if so, what one?
Is there a better way to do this? I want to end up with a CD that I can use to copy back software onto the older macs.
