Personal LaserWriter 320

Bought this today for ~25 GBP, my first printer. I'm not much of a dead tree person, but I'm writing a fairly large paper this semester, so it'll be good to have a way of printing off drafts and notes for reading and doodling on in the... coffee shop. Etc.

It's in fairly good nick, except that the toner needs a clean - it prints a black line down the middle. Not much of a problem for the casual printing I'll be doing.

It came with a Dayna Mini EtherPrint LocalTalk->Ethernet bridge, but for the time being I'll probably be plugging it straight into my 7500 as that's what I use for writing. I'm thinking I can find some software that'll allow me to print from other computers via the 7500, though.

I have my 7300/200 set up to share my 320 out to the rest of my network using Apple's LocalTalk Bridge control panel. All of my OS X machines see it, as well as my Windows machines, and they all print to it with no problem.

I can get all the stuff together you'll need to have the 7500 host it if you want :)

Tar!

Went rather smooth, though. I didn't try printing from my girlfriend's McBook, but it did show up after installing the LocalTalk bridge control panel. Printing from the 7300 itself works nicely, too.

Next step is trying to get my FreeBSD lappie to see it. That'll be piles of fun, I'm sure.

that's a real nice small laser printer...both the 300 and 320, are pretty good printers. Toner is still fairly easy to find here..in your part of the world, that might be a small problem. I believe the ram max on the 320,

is 8MB...many were sold with just 2mb, and never upgraded.

If you can ever come across a 16/600 ..score it. especially if the price is right! ....has a ram max of 32mb.....higher ram, better printing and more.

I ordered cartridges for mine last week; 4 non-brandnamed remanufactured cartridges for $35, free shipping. :)

I thought it was 6, but eh. Mine still has 2MB.

The toner cartridge in mine says HP LaserJet and seems to be a completely standard part that are still available from new... not sure where in the world it would be difficult to find...

I remember seeing some online repair shop or parts shop that said they'd never seen the 6MB RAM upgrade for the 320. I do think it's quite rare.
