PDS Graphics Card and nubus help?

Hello again--

While looking at random quadra 950 parts, I came across an ad for a motherboard with this strange pds card. What's throwing me off is that its a pds card, has hd15 connector AND adb + appletalk(?) on it. Any clue what it is?

Also, on the case of the q950, how do you hook the card into the back of the case so its secured?

It's a Miro Rainbow GX, a video card for the 040 PDS slot. I'd love to find one of those :)

In regards to securing it at the back of the case, some of my 950s have a rounded tab of metal that can be stretched over the Nubus bracket to make very firm contact. I don't think this is intentional, especially since another of my 950s has a different design for the inside of the slots, and no metal tab is available. The case door was designed to add support from the outer edge.

Hm.. Ill take a picture of mine and report back. Obviously I'm used to cards that arent mac that get screwed in, and the way mine sit against the back panel just doesnt seem right.

As for the card, I posted the link here:

This is what the variant with the tabs looks like:

Thanks for posting the link! I sent a message to see if they will ship to the US.

Unfortunately, the seller did not respond before the listing ended. Somebody got a good deal at opening bid price though...

Oh say lookee here. I bought this auction through a coworker in Berlin. He’s an Amiga guy so buying a dusty vintage computer part on eBay on my behalf was a no brainer for him. It took three months for it to get here.

I’m kinda already in love with it. It has the same/similar PCB fab technique as a Tektronix scope from that era.

Someone have any drivers for this available? I’ll fire it up and let ya’ll know how it goes...

Cool to see where this landed! I've kept up my search but have yet to find another one.

Check out Bolle's post I linked above. He was able to get his up and running.
