Nubus Video Card Info

Taking inspiration from the other thread like this. Has anyone found any more info on this card here? I can’t seem to find much about it online. Original specs or anything like that would be cool.

Markings on the card are: Defi HFS HFVC-24. Works well in my Mac II, but no idea if it's accelerated or anything like that.

By the BUG on the chips, that makes it a BUG Pickles card of some sort. It doesn't immediately match any of the pictures I see on the BUG thread though. Tattletech probably will give you an exact model.

Oh good eye I didn't even notice that before, but you are right it does say BUG and even Pickles on some of the chips. That's a good start!

It most likely is if you grab the drivers. They're in a thread here somewhere.

Try these :

Nice I'll have to try that, although after carefully reviewing the bug cards posted, I do think this might be one not previously documented it really doesn't seem to match any of the known cards.

I haven't seen that one before. I have a couple of Bug cards. Bid on two, minimum amount to try to win the one someone else didn't bid on... Nobody bid :s

B.U.G. Cards are flying way below the radar at the moment. They are excellent and rare cards yet they seldom command high prices at all. Mine was £40. I think a big part of it is that no youtubers (that I've seen) have made a video about them yet, which tends to drive prices up when it happens. Let's all just keep quiet and keep enjoying our cards on the cheap, eh? ;)

I think a big part of that is rarity, I mean they are just so uncommon, even on yahoo the really don't come up very often. Might be that a youtuber has yet to actually get there hands on one.

Where does one get lucky and find these cards flying below the radar? ;)

Both myself and @Paulie got ours from Japanese proxy auction sites. Mine was dirt cheap, paulie's still very reasonably priced. I've seen four pop up in the last 18 months or so, so it really is a waiting game with a certain threshold of luck. Don't trust proxy services' saved search functionalities - in my experience they do not work in the slightest (Buyee and FromJapan). You just have to log in and check the sites every day. It's a chore but it's worth it. B.U.G. cards are some of the coolest out there.

I would dearly love a BUG Pickles card with the add-on memory boards. That's top of my list. Even more than Radius GX 1600 which I'd have to take out a loan to buy. :(

Some better pictures of this card for history sake. Also I just noticed this card has a block of switches by the video port. No idea what those do but I haven’t touched them. Any ideas on that?IMG_3073.jpegIMG_3075.jpegIMG_3074.jpeg

Yep I've been watching there also. Picked up my Interware card from there on a tip from Paulie I believe. Turned out to be the lower end card and has some problems so I'm still keeping an eye out.

Do you have a photo of the text on a VRAM chip?
I’m not sure which are the VRAM chips, but you should be able to zoom in and read any text you want in my photos they are a pretty good resolution. Let me know if you can’t and I’ll get a different one.

The VRAM are the long narrow chips. The labels are on the side, hence asking.
