No image LC II/Performa 400

Hi, I have a Performa 400/ LC II without image. I have recapped the logic board and the voltage from the PSU are all good.

The component UJ10 CLUT DAC is right next to the display connector and it gets too hot to touch.

Does anyone have experience with this problem and/or the UJ10 becoming so hot? Is this part still made?

Certainly possible that a bad CLUT would result in dead video. I’d check for upstream shorts too.

Is your VRAM good, and is it making good pin contact? I’ve also had no video on a LC II result from a bad ROM chip.

Thanks, I’ll try to find another ROM and VRAM to test with. If they are ok it’s probably the CLUT judging from the heat.
