Naive question: switchable CC VGA hack?

I have approximately nil analog electronics experience. Would it be possible to add a circuit to the Color Classic's analog board that would allow one to switch between the original resolution's signal path and the VGA signal path? I would assume the switching would have to take place while the machine was off, as opposed to switching resolutions in the control panel. Would this require an entirely new analog board? Is that even a feasible thing to design and build in 2019? Again, pretty inexperienced when it comes to this, please let me know if this is a ridiculous thought.

Basically a CC board can't output VGA, a 550 board or a 575 Board can. What you're asking for is possible, there was even a company which made a video out adapter,

Wouldn't the video adapter mirror what's on the CRT, ie. original CC 512 x 384 unless some sort of fancier PDS solution?

What you're describing would be quite difficult noting the 640 x 480 hack requires cutting of traces, removal or resistors and calibration of the CRT image.  I've had two CCs (a Mystic and Takky) used often with the original 67Hz mod with no concerns, the internal display handles this resolution exceedingly well and is what the original CC should have shipped with, IMO.

My main goal here is to figure out a non-destructive way to use the higher resolution on my Mystic CC, but since it involves trace cutting, I guess that isn't very feasible. I wonder how much a spare analog board would be? Probably prohibitively expensive, haha.
