After years of trying to track one down in my price range I have finally managed to get a hold of one of these little guys.

So now I have to get rid of things to maintain the harmony and order of my room. Look out for a post soon regarding cheap as free odds and sodds.

Huzzah! Apple IIs are some of my favorite machines in the world. Mostly because of Ultima V. Actually, my Apple II is pretty much a dedicated Ultima V console. :D

Congrats! I think a IIc was my first vintage Apple II. I never had any Apple II before that one. I am sure I paid too much for it on ePay, but its a nice complete system.

If you don't want the monitor, I might be interested next time I am in Toronto.

Are you going to make up the ADPro cable yourself?

So... When I hold control-reset I get this symbol instead of the expected open bracket. Is this normal?

This case has been somewhere with cats...
You can try Febreeze, you can try NilOdor, you can try covering it in bicarbonate of soda, leaving it for a few days and then vacuuming it off ... but it's likely that eventually you'll wanna get that drycleaned :/

"glamor shots" That's good. I liked that.

Okay, so.

That KEYBOARD SWITCHER button thing didn't do anything. I still get that character instead of an open bracket no matter how many times I press it/rest. Still seems to be BASIC though, so far as I can tell. I ran a little memory test I found on THISwebsite.

Doesn't work though. Sits there at "writing memory" and when I ctrl-c out it always breaks at line 40 so something there is keeping it busy, or just stuck. Or I just input the code wrong... or

Which is very likely.

Go to a pet store. Get some of the urine cleanser which is specifically a bottle of enzymes. The enzymes break down the proteins in the urine which make it so persistent.

Alternatively, you could try mixing up a little meat tenderizer solution (try to find without salt) or contact lens enzyme solution. However, I think the latter is likely to be too weak, and there's no telling if a DIY enzyme will stain. Presumably the bottled products have been tested on fabrics.

Worst case, just buy a pound of papain powder, throw it in the washing machine with the case, and let it soak for a couple of hours.

BTW, the above works great mixed with sterile saline as a substitute for contact lens enzyme solution. At least it does for me on my hard gas permeable lenses. They stopped selling the little tablets around here and try to get one to use a super-expensive solution, and a ridiculous amount of it per use.
