Mathcad 6 crashes upon loading?

I installed Mathcad 6 from the Macintosh Garden on my Centris 650 and it crashes when opening. It looks like the program wants to get past the splash screen but can't.

The upper righthand corner of the splash screen disappears and the computer hangs here.

I tested this installation on my Windows machine running Basilisk and everything works.

What could be causing a conflict in my Centris installation?

Thanks!

Restart and hold shift down while the computer restarts, until you see "Extensions Disabled" then try again. See if it is a system extension.

Did that just now and a "Type 2" error pops up now.

I'd start by grabbing a different version to be honest. This sort of message usually means someone's uploaded a trashed copy. Technically I think it is :

"error 2 siInitVBLQsErr: VBLqueues for all slots could not be initialized. or dsAddressErr: address error"

But that doesn't tell me much.

Oh, one thing, you do have an FPU don't you?

Could you open System Profiler in the Apple Menu and share a picture?

Should look like this :

Sorry for being out of action here. Had a bit of a COVID to fight off! 😷 🤒

Here's my system's profile.

Could the crash be coming from me running OS 8.1? I was thinking of trying to install OS 7.6.1, the last of the version 7 series.

Yeah, could be something about OS 8 it doesn't like. Or as Phipli said, a corrupt/bad image of the software. Have you tried Mathcad 3?
