Maritime simulation

I came home today from a session in a multi-million dollar ship simulator with 5 bridges, 3 channel visual displays, twin PPIs, conning display, instructor's console, etc.

This may be a long shot, but was any maritime simulation software ever made for a 68k Macintosh? I figured I could consolidate all my NuBus video cards in a single Macintosh II and get one hell of a simulation rig!

I think he may be referring to professional-grade simulations, as opposed to entertainment.

I remember a sailing simulation that was more of a technical exercise than a game, but I don't recall seeing a bridge simulator.

That's right. I did download PT-109, but that's a game. The big problem is that, in contrast to flight simulators, a merchant ship simulator has practically zero entertainment value to most people. And software like that only comes as a part of a complete commercial simulator. And if one was made for the 68k platform it was probably for IRIX or Solaris.

Was that technical sailing simulator Poseysail? I had a friend that sailed that had that, and I remember it... It ran well on his Quadra 605, even though the software must have produced the graphics on the fly- as it was a rather tiny program. But then, most 68k software was... :)
