Mac II ci - Looking for help

Dear all,

I am a Mac user from Hong Kong. Recently I get a Macintosh II ci and I am going to restore it.

Here is the image of the board. It seems clean and fine. I replaced a DIY power supply by folloing instructions from MrGasS. To play safe, I did the modification on the ATX extension cable.

I also use a Blue SCSI clone at the back. It works on my Macintosh FDHD. There are some "pulse (green LED flashing)" after turning on the Macintosh II, indicate that it is loading from the SCSI. The front LED is on, the keyboard seems work as well because the CAP lock LED is on if I press the CAP lock button.

I use a DB15-VGA converter to connect my Eizo L367 display. (Left, for reference only.) Unfortunately, there are no video signal and no sound when turning on the Mac II ci.

Can anyone suggest me what may happen.

Thanks a lot.

I spot some sign of corrosion in C2 C3 C5, I suggest a thorough cleaning and a recap first

UA4 as well

hope you got it working soon

echoing @ironborn65, that absolutely needs a recap.

all IIcx and IIci that haven't been recapped should be considered non-working and in need of repairs. remove those lytics, clean up the board, and install new aluminum polymer capacitors.

I have BlueScsi 2, just that the 3D-printed box is too big to fit the slot so I use BS1 instead.

Yay! It works.
I got an Apple RGB display today and then connect it to the IIci... It works!

I got some 68k and PPC Macs today as well and will tell you if they are working or not later on.

honestly should have guessed. the mac IIci internal video is somewhat picky and won't work with hardwired adapters like that

try to find an adapter with dip switches, best if it has two rows.
