Looking for the MacTerminal that uses Comms Toolbox

I have a copy of the original MacTerminal, but does anyone know if the one that caused Apple to write the Comms Toolbox is available anywhere?

I have a boxed copy of...I think...MacTerminal 4. Is the Comms Toolbox what you're looking for?

I have plenty of copies of comms toolbox, it's the Macterminal program.

How many versions of MacTerminal were there?

Hmm...good question. It became part of ClarisWorks sometime after 1987. I think mine is the last release before that happened. I'll check when I get home.

Interesting. I have ClarisWorks 1.0 which has full support for comms toolbox. That might be the trick. I want to run it on a Mac Plus or SE, so that should work.

One bug bear with ClarisWorks 1.0 is it only allowed one comms session to be open at a time, was this true of MacTerminal?

Porter...sorry for dropping the ball!

Okay, My MacTerminal is 3.0. And it says it uses the "Macintosh Communications Toolbox" and the number of sessions that can be opened depends on the amount of memory available to MacTerminal. So it obviously supports multiple sessions.

Hope this helps!!!

If you think it might be of some use to you I'll see what I can do about making some disk images for you.

That would be excellent.

I'm currently writing an "adspd" daemon that lets you log into a linux/netbsd box using the "ADSP Tool".

Porter - I don't have a classic Mac networked at the moment. Mind if I send you my set of backup disks?
