Laserwriter II Toners

I have my Laserwriter II NTX up and running -- I've tried several NOS toners and every one ghost prints.

I checked a printout and the ghosting is there before it hits the fuser, so I am fairly certain it's the toner cartridge.

I'm thinking that at this point every NOS toner (HP92295A, or Canon EP-S)  is going to be bad, with either a bad drum wiper blade or the drum itself....

Can't find replacement wiper blades anywhere, so I guess any NOS toner is a dead end.

Any suggestions?  There are a couple of places out there selling rebuilt toners still.... Looks like my only option.

I can't speak for the 95 cartridge, but I've had the same problem with my 98 cartridges. Either the wiper blade was good when I got the cartridge, and it deteriorated over a couple of years, or it was bad to begin with.

I've had a bit of success by taking a wiper for a different cartridge, cutting a few bits of the metal frame off, and bodging it into the 98 cartridge. It works more or less fine, so could be worth a go.

I've also heard of people heating up the blade a bit to reform it. I didn't have any luck with this, but it appears others have.

Unfortunately I think you are just going to have to take pot luck with whichever cartridge you buy.

I'm going to pull apart the worst 95a cartridge that I have, and see what the wiper looks like. If I can match it up to a wiper that can be modded to fit I'll give it a try.

Only 3rd party toner is available for the SX engine printers these days. HP reportedly discontinued the cartridges to encourage people to migrate away from their workhorse Laserjet II and III machines that simply won't quit.
