Keyboard issues!

Hi,

The keyboard from my TAM is playing up (M3459), all the keys work except for the power, both shift keys, ctrl, apple (command) and esc. Ive tried stripping it down, cleaning, thought the cap may have leaked so cleaned the board. Driving me nuts! any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Matt

The keyboard is the same as the Powerbook 5300 IIRC, probably easy to find a 5300 donor and remove the keyboard.

As so many keys are not responding, maybe not fixable.

Hi, thanks, is a M2785 workable and is it a clean swap of the keyboard internals or does it require some extensive tech knowledge? Cheers

Probably a direct swap, never had a TAM myself, but repaired one a couple of months ago (but not the keyboard) and swapped the LCD panel (was removed from a Powerbook 3400)

The Keyboard can also be the same as the 3400 one, the 5300 has two flat connectors side by side, don't remember about the 3400, but should be the same.

So probably remove the TAM keyboard and you will find the same setup.
