Imation SuperDisk 120MB USB not working under Tiger...

Hey guys, got an Imation SuperDisk drive that I'm trying to get working on my G4 Digital Audio. It's not seen in System Profiler. I checked the model number, and it is one of the ones compatible with OS X. Do I need to have it connected to the built-in USB ports, or can it run on the USB 2.0 PCI card that I have installed? I guess, if I have to, I can pick up a powered USB hub and run both the mouse and the SuperDisk drive off one of the built-in USB ports, with my Griffin iMate running off the other.

It should work on any port since the super disk has its own power cord. I have macs with 10 to 10.7 and they all can still use it. Make sure the plug on the back of the drive isn't snapped at all. They put little knobs on the bottom of the USB cord so it should but you never know.

Jason,

Will do. I may also try it on one of the other USB-enabled machines around here and see if it works. If it does on one of those, then I might have an issue with the 'puter itself.

It's supposed to be supported native on OS X but it did include a driver disk that was for Mac OS.

It works now. Tried it on a whim a few seconds ago. Guess I should've rebooted the computer after connecting it.

Good call. Don't remember it being hot swappable. Also wont do 800k disks. Doesn't like disc copy a whole lot either.

Yep, AFAIK, no USB floppy can do 800K disks... Anyway, it does give me the ability of transferring stuff from the Macintosh Garden to the 68K Macs without having to have the IIci or the SE/30 powered up to FTP into the G4.
