iMac G4 20" Revival

Folks,
I recently secured a non-working iMac G4 20".
On receipt it did not do anything - so I disassembled it, cleaned it etc.

I also re-capped the "low-voltage" part of the PSU, replacing the 5 small capacitors.

Now it is happily POSTing and chiming - however the screen stays dark.

Measuring the PSU again (not connected to the logic board), the "leftmost, single" pin, which should 12V is 0 - the other 4 are fine. Might this be the reason? And if so .. any clue?
Or should I rather check inverter etc in the screen? Shining a flashlight on the screen which running does not reveal anything. ALso (I am not sure if the 20" is having a LED at the screen bezel), there is no LED.

Unfortunately the Mini-VGA-Connector is somewhat destroyed - until now I have not been able to rectify it in a way that the adapter is fitting ... I suspect this will be hard to find as spare part ...
