Hi, So I have a iMac G3 233Mhz that I want to convert the CRT to a monitor display and not be connected computer part of the mac. When i received it, it could sometimes boot into mac OS 9 just fine but most times it wouldnt boot with the power LED stuck at amber. So I took it apart to visually inspect the PSU, analog board and video board but the all the caps dont seem to have any leaks/bulges.
The part I am stuck at is, after i jump the purple wire (5V standby power) with the brown (PFW) wire, there is a thunk noise (which i assume is some relay), the fan spins and the LED turns amber and then nothing happens. I also have the da-15 display hooked up to a VGA connector with the wires rearranged to the connect pin on both end. Then the VGA connected to a video out from a PC. I've tested the voltages (3.3V, 5V, 12V, -12V) on the 20 pin connector going to the logic board and they all seem close enough. But I tested some voltages connecting to the analog board like the one labelled 130V but it only measured 87.5V.
So idk, is there some special start-up sequence that I missed out to actually turn on the CRT or is this lower than normal voltage messing with something?
