• Updated 2023-07-12: Hello, Guest! Welcome back, and be sure to check out this follow-up post about our outage a week or so ago.

Identification help needed on this Lisa II A6S0200 please. Is there anything special about it?

Looks like a pretty standard Lisa 2/10 to me, so no "L@@K PROTOTYPE STEVE JOBS" with this one. Not a converted Lisa 1 either.

More pictures will be helpful to see whether you've got something that was cobbled together from parts or sold as a single unit. What does the back look like? What's behind the front and back covers?

What will be special about it is how much of it works. Is there a Widget hard drive inside, and does it function? (That would actually be pretty special!) How about the keyboard?

Thanks for responding, I attached some additional photos of the items you mentioned

Its fairly special if it is a Lisa full stop. Is there something specific you had in mind?

There is a Widget hard drive inside. Can you hear it spin up as you turn on the computer? How far does the computer get after you turn it on --- does it boot into an operating system? Does the little light at the bottom right corner of the grille blink?

Given the "help" cards that slide out from underneath it, I don't think the keyboard came with this computer, but it's hard to know for sure.

From the main photo on this thread, yes it does boot up and yes, the hard drive spins up. But that screen is as far as it gets. I do not have the or a serial mouse to test that with but maybe today I can see if I can work out a mouse to test it with further. I do have a serial to round adapter somewhere lost in a junk box somewhere.

I have this from a Macintosh SE, will this work with a 9pin serial adapter?

No, because it's not a serial mouse you need, as I said. Use a mouse for one of the machines I mentioned above or you can rewire a quadrature mouse from something else that uses one.
