how to get battery out of battery holder (Centris 610)

I tried firing up a Centris 610 for the first time in two years. It sounded like it was starting up okay, but I got no video. (I tested the monitor on a different system - the monitor is working fine.) I opened up the case, and nothing looked unusual. There is a PRAM (?) battery, so I thought that I would test this, and replace it if necessary. It is in a battery holder, but I can't figure out how to get the battery out. It looks like the top should come off if I squeeze it the correct way, but I haven't discovered the trick yet. I'm wary of being too aggressive, as all of the plastic in this system is somewhat brittle. I'd prefer not to break anything unnecessarily. Any tips?

Thanks.

The cover clips on at the two ends. You can use a small screwdriver or a pocket knife at one or other of the ends, or else just grab it and haul it away with your fingers, ideally by a combination of horizontal and vertical forces. Unless you are built like Mike Tyson, you really aren't likely to break it.
