He has had those for a while, I have a 25Mhz version he gave me with some other free stuff in an order I had a while back.

He ran out of 66/33s at about the same time as I recommended him to members of this Army, although he had still a number of 50/25s. Seems that the tree has fruited again, this year.

typing this from a 33/66Mhz 68LC040 Powerbook 520. Yup! works great! Also, I will be posting the full restoration of this laptop since when I got it, the screen kept fading on contrast, and the floppy wouldn't eject.

Does the 33MHz CPU make a great difference over the stock 25MHz? I'm tempted to get one (given the low cost) for my 520c but would like to know if it's worth it.

actually, it does. It makes web browsing seem much less masochist. I was able to do IRC and Internet Exploder 4 at the same time, and it seemed to work considerably well. Although it's slow, it still worked fine!

That's convincing enough for me! Shipping to UK is only $5 so I'll be getting one soon.

You can always drop the 25MHz module back in
True. Wait, did you say the Powerbook 520 runs at only 25 MHz? My Powerbook 180 runs at that speed as well, but I am pretty sure the 180 came first...

Yeah... but the 180 is a 68030, this is a 68040.
