Wouldn't the fact that it has a sticker on the front of it devalue it even more? Sure, you could take it off but God know how long that sticker has been there and whether it would come off completely. And if it's yellowed, it's going to have a completely new section in the shape of an Apple.

Come to think of it, that would actually be rather interesting. Of course, then he would sell it as an 8500 "prototype" with an Apple embossing on it. :p

Who knows if the guy has a G4 processor in it, but PCI powermacs are in the free for the taking category and that one is not a mint example collectors would want.

With all the software, misc hardware, and the monitor it is probably worth $100 locally to somebody.

I don't know what he means by this setup is for somebody to learn? Does he mean learn how to get ripped off?

I think he's not aware that Photoshop 3 is rather different than Photoshop CS3.

He's thinking "this is a good deal 'cuz you save $5000 buying my old software rather than new software", but of course that's not really true when you're talking about software that's 11 years out of date... Maybe I'd pay $150 or $200 for Photoshop CS2 to save me the $900 on CS3, but not late-1990s Photoshop. :)

There's a seller on ebay that still asks thousands for 68k and early PPC Macs.

There is some software there that still goes for a good amount of money on ebay, though, not just pre-installed, but with the original cd's and manuals.
