G5 2.7 x 2 LCS project suddenly halted

How come? I decided to service the LCS of a working G5. I removed the processors from the LCS and left the thing for several months. Yesterday when I finally completed the LCS refill and hoses and o-rings replacement and reassembled everything: nada, no boot, no led, no noting. PSU is fine because it clicks when I insert the power cord.

How come?

Hello,

I would say some connector is left unconnected somewhere, but you have certainly checked that yourself.

Those are a prone to random logic board failures even when using moderate mechanical force on. (Ex, plugin CPU boards or RAM stick)

From experience repairing those, usually dual 2.0 have the highest fail rate but others models are not that uncommon, and LCS ones simple dies because no more cooling / coolant leak.

Is this a dual processor or dual core ? If dual processor, try with only one processor at a time.

I replaced the logic board from a spare one (not sure if it is ok, though): not it chimes but then noting.
