I have a 1.25ghz DP G4 MDD with a Radion 9000 pro video card running 10.5.8. I have it connected to a Sony 46" LCD TV via a DVI-HDMI adapter. I use it mostly as a PVR, a video player and also to play imported PAL DVDs but occasionally I run other OSX apps and less often I boot OS 9 to run some old games.
It recognizes that it's connected to a Sony TV but unfortunately sometimes after the initial OS install a second resolution option of 1920x1080 shows up and looks the same as the other 1920x1080 setting. Unfortunately that setting seems to be something my monitor can't display and I get a blank screen. I did an OS reinstall but a day later the second monitor setting showed up again. It appears to also have become the default in this situation. I'm happy enough at a slightly lower resolution but every few weeks I'll do something that'll cause it to switch to the default resolution and changing back is a bit of an annoyance involving hooking up another display to the ADC connector.
So how can I remove this 1920x1080 resolution choice from my displays preferences?
