LG Ultrawide monitor at 1920x1080 on G4 MDD with GeForce4 Ti 4600?

Hi all,

Maybe a bit of a specific scenario here, but wanted to see if anyone has come across something similar previously. I have an LG Ultrawide monitor (40WP95C) that I've been trying to get working with my PMG4 MDD. The computer has a GeForce4 Ti 4600, and when connecting the monitor to the DVI port via an HDMI adapter, I get no video signal whatsoever in Mac OS 9.2.2. The system recognizes the monitor in the Monitors control panel and shows 1 resolution available (3440x1440), but no image is displayed. I've got the latest nVidia drivers for 9.2.2 installed. I've used SwitchRes2, but not a single resolution option available there produces any signal either (in fact, even trying to select many of them seems to cause the system to freeze). The same setup works fine in 10.5.8, with a 1920x1080 image displayed on the monitor.

On a whim, I decided to swap the GeForce4 with the stock Radeon 9000 Pro and repeat the test—it works, and I get a 1920x1080 image in both 9.2.2 (without needing to do any SwitchRes magic) and 10.5.8. Am I missing something, or is this a matter of differences between graphics cards (and their drivers) and I'm just going to have to come to terms with the fact that I'm out of luck?

Thanks!
