Thanks to scott from canada
And thanks to bbran and bear!
Great thread bear already started! - Mac II powers on but does not chime
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=21600&start=25
and thanks to my self for not giving up !
Spent HOURS on this thing…
Recapped…it… Hey … Change all the caps on these guys… I had a shorted 470uf cap, wasn't leaking!
also… dropping my multimeter(out of frustration) on the Mac II made it come to life!
The multimeter landed on the roms.
The board must have been sitting in storage for a long time.
I would have saved my self lots of time if i would have just popped out the ROM's and Poped them back in.
GEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
then once i got it to power up and CHIME by shorting a pram battery to the last white wire to the PSU.
Realized it would shut down by the power switch… just not power it back up.
both PRAM batteries are fresh…
So going through bear's thread… i took bbran's advice and metered out R3 to R18, sure enough it was open.. ran a wire… and Boom… power switch kicks on the psu!
looks like i am all set for the moment… the start up bong is a little scratchy… but other then that … looks like we are golden…
