Hello there,

Sorry if this basic question has already been discussed here...

I have a .for file which is an old fortran source. This file open properly into msdos 'edit'.

With Apple File Exchange I can read the floppy with my Powerbook 100 but then the file look very strange...
Obviously there are problems with CR, LF and so on...

I try various conversion settings into AFE without any result.

What is the best way to do this transfer and get a correctly formatted file. 80's Fortran compilers are not friendly at all about line formatting !

Regards.

I'd suggest using something like an older version of BBEdit Lite, which will happily deal with DOS (CRLF) text files.

I find a solution.

Original files probably come from an Unix system. Msdos EDIT can handle it correctly but not AFE.
So I open it with Msdos EDIT, simply rewrite it (there is a slight change in the file size) and then transfer with AFE as text file.
After adding a resource files open correctly into Macintosh text editor.
